Posting images question.
Am I the only one having a problem viewing some of the images that are posted that are of huge size? I have a 27 inch screen and I'm still not able to view them without having to scroll around. For me this ruins the image because I'm never able to see the complete image.

Thanks Rusty but I'm not looking for a solution on my end. I was just trying to send a gentle reminder to follow Don's requests. I think these large files take up an awful lot of "space" and if we control our image file size it will make for a more efficient site and a gallery that is more enjoyable to use.
Please read. http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...ght=file+sizes From the Webmaster, "You can upload an image up to 2500 X 2500 pixels in size up to your disk space quota. PhotoPost will then automatically create thumbnail and medium size images. I use and recommend an image size of 1024 X 768 for uploads. At that size my images only use about 200K of space and still fill the screen for most viewers". |

What resolution are you running at?
Screen size is one factor, but if you're running at something like 1024x768 then even thumbnails may not fit

I usually post my pictures through Photobucket. I always try to downsize them to 640 x 320 or so. They call that forum size. Sometimes I forget to re-size and they come out huge. I always go back and delete it and try again. I know what you mean by toooooooooooo big. Scrolling around to see the whole thing takes away from the viewing pleasure. Plus every post after that gets stretched out so you need to scroll to read the replies as well.
Size 'em down folks. Makes everybody happy! |

PhotoPost Gallery
Why not post Lakes Region pictures in our very own PhotoPost Gallery?
That way if I am searching for, let's say a picture of an owl from our area, your picture would show up. I also think it's pretty cool when I Google a Lakes Region image, most of the pictures are ours! Menus and things like that, I use Photobucket. If you want to share the larger photo, include the link, so anyone interested can go directly to the picture. Winnipesaukee Sushi |
