Coe House is Open!
Hello everyone--
The Coe House Restaurant is indeed open for the 2011 season! Currently, we are serving dinner Wednesday through Monday starting at 5pm(we'll add Tuesdays in a few weeks). We are excited about our new menu in the expanded Chestnut Pub, for those of you looking for some lighter fare...burgers, fish & chips, gourmet pizza. This menu is also available in the dining rooms, of course, and families will love these (and more selections) for our younger guests. Also new this year...outside dining (if it ever stops raining!) Visit our website http://www.coehousenh.com to see our menus and all contact/reservations information. Thank you to all of our forum supporters--we can't wait to see you again! We really, really want to like the Coe House, great location and history, beautiful interior. Wonderful for a special occasion. BUT, in the past few years we have had some very good meals and some mediocre ones and there has been a lack of consistency (although the servers are always doing their best.) The menu has also been a bit limited.
I am happy to say we dined there last evening and were very pleased. The menu has retained almost all the good stuff and there have been some very nice additions, including the lighter fare portion. The four of us loved our food. If last night was any indication, we hope to be there a number of times this season.

We liked it too...
We were at the Coe House a couple weeks ago and had a great dining experience. We ate in room with a historical wallpaper mural. Our table was right next to a window overlooking the lake. Something seldom found in many nicer restaurants these days, padded high back seats just made the overall dining experience that much better.
We had a very nice waiter who served us a bottle of wine, portobello mushrooms stuffed with crab meat for an appetizer, arugula salads , sirloin steak & sword fish for the main coarse and creme brulee & carrot cake for desert. We will be back. Hopefully, they will add more selections to their wine list. |
