Had a devil of a time getting a coated fluke anchor (maybe 12 Lb) to set a few week's back while at the Laconia sandbar.
So I dug out a plain galvinized anchor out of the shed (17 Lb) and did a bit better this weekend at the W. Alton sandbar, but had to reset once when the wind picked up. The 17 Lb anchor seems like way overkill to me,,, ANd yes I have a multi foot chain attached. Just wondering what others are using at the sandbars and how well they are doing (resets needed)??? Any tips are welcome. Thanks! GH p.s. boat is 23' Cuddy ~3800 Lbs. ![]() |
