Folks, I am a Bank of NH customer. At 7:17 this morning (Tuesday 11-12) I received a warning that a transfer was made and that my Checking account was in arrears. Going on line I found that a substantial sum of money was moved from my checking to my linked savings putting my checking in an overdrawn situation. A call to customer service indicated that the money was moved without any action from me and the issue was caused by a "Computer Glitch". They provided no other explanation but I question whether this transfer was truly a computer problem or not. While I never "lost" the money I would have been subject to the Banks heavy overdraft fees. Thankfully I had activated the online banking notifications/warnings and was able to deal with this quickly. For those who don't have these activated or don't bank on line I guess you are on your own. Without discussing blame and lack of integrity I would urge all Bank of NH customers to check their balances and see if they too were victims of this "Computer Glitch. |
