party of 25
We have some friends getting married in Meredith this Aug. I’m looking for a place that can seat 25 for dinner Friday night (wedding is sat) for people who are not at the wedding rehearsal in the Meredith area. Lake view would be ideal but will take what we can get. Any and all ideas are welcome

not fancy by any means --- but Hart's is right in Meredith and could easily accommodate that many (probably all in the same area with advanced notice)
Depending on the week end, and a lot more up scale -- talk with Lauren at the Lyon's Den (but a Friday night in Aug might be tough) .

Party of 25
I know you would like a lake view, but, if you run out of options, try Hobbs Brewery and Tavern in Ossipee, NH (603-539-2000) All you do is take Rt 25 east out of Meredith to the intersection of Rt 28 North, turn north, and Hobbs is very shortly on your left. Lots of parking.
They have a large room upstairs, more than enough space to have a party of 25. Since they are relatively new, they are trying to be as helpful as they can. It wouldn't hurt to give them a call. |

Hobbs posting made me think of the Ellacoya Bar & Grille.
I forgot that they have a HUGE room (recent addition) upstairs for just such events !!

Friday night in August?
That's a tall order at this time. I'm sure everyone may be booked. I would call the Common Man chain http://www.thecman.com/ and see if they may have something. If not, next bet is The Mug or the Frog Rock tavern. All in Meredith. If you can do outside Meredith, Magic Foods, (Canoe, O's), will be your next bet. http://magicfoodsrestaurantgroup.com/

The former North End location on rt 25 in Moultonborough has a 'book your event here' sign up out front. I'm not sure how large (or small) and event has to be, but...worth a call. That's part of the magic foods group mentioned above.

Canoe
I know you can book downstairs at the Canoe for large groups. They have alot of wedding rehersal dinners there. They also provide a shuttle service from the town dock in Center Harbor if anyone is coming by boat

If it's a lake view and accommodations for a party of 25 you seek, LAGO is where you want to be! Nothing beats the view (you can even eat outside), the food is awesome, and the service is great too. I'd give them a call ahead of time - especially if you have any requirements (a cocktail hour, special apps or something ahead of dinner). For parties of 20 or more they will book your reservation as a function, and design a menu to suit the needs of your occasion. In addition, they have a private dock - you can boat in!

The Lobster a Pound has Great Lake views and tons of space to accommodate your party. If you'd like a last minute reservation, private message me.

The Mount?
If there are a lot of folks from away you can't beat the views from the M/S Mount Washington. I think the Steamboat Lounge can be booked for groups up to 50, or maybe the second deck?
If you have a location, consider a caterer. There are many around the area who do great food and service at reasonable prices, in part, I think, because you're not paying for "the room". |

Descant Has A Great Idea!
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner on the Mount and everyone thought it was a very different, unique idea.
The food was just okay but most of the people had never been to the lake so they were really impressed with the cruise and how much of the lake they got to see. Plenty of room, dinner, dancing, music, and getting to see Winni, all in one…not a bad idea Descant!

THe Winni Belle might work too, if you wanted to journey over to this side of the pond. |

Not sure of the status but we had a similar venue on a Friday night in August 2013 at Mame's in Meredith. Private room, great service, great food, great experience. Regards

Giuseppe's
With most people in the group staying in Meredith we decided to go to Giuseppe’s which worked out just fine and they were happy to accommodate us (it was not my first choice as we tend to eat here often during the summer). With finding cabs for 25 and people not wanting to drive on a wedding weekend we stayed close to the wedding venue. We then went downstairs and hit the club. Who knew there is a dance jam every weekend in the basement of Giuseppe’s ha-ha?
