General Observation
This has been my first year watching this forum. I have really enjoyed it. Especially all the great information shared by those who know!.. But I noticed what I guess must be a "winter" phenomenon. All of a sudden, the most active threads all seem to be about restaurants. Won't be long now before we join the group in person and life slows down to the pace of "what's the next meal".. Seriously, thanks for the information AND the entertainment.

Yes your right and I've been thinking the same thing as the forum has really slowed the last couple months. Makes it kind of difficult to keep busy at work when there's no new information to read. How's one supposed to pass the day now? Work.....Naw.....

We're all hibernating......I eat, sleep and gain about 10 lbs every winter. Fortunately, I loose it in the spring.

Site visits bottom out in November and December and begin to climb in January. There just isn't that much to talk about at this time of year and people are focused on other things. Visits peak around Ice-Out and into the summer when we have up to 5000 unique visitors a day and sometimes much more. There isn't that much to post about now although every day about 1500-2000 unique visitors are still lurking.
This pattern has been consistent for many years. |

Merry Christmas
and Happy Chanukah Everyone!
The holidays seem to take up much of our time. Some go into hibernation mode, some go into active winter sports such as skiing, riding, sledding, shoeing etc. Others 'chicken out' and head South. As Don says, the forum will come back to life after the holidays.

Regarding Restaurants
There are a few good year round restaurants in the Lakes region, but many open in the Spring and do well during the Summer and Fall. but without the tourists, many don't make it through the Winter. Guessing whether the new ones will make it through the winter is a favorite pasttime for the Forum.

I have to add that although the site and forum get less visits this time of year there are still a steady stream of posts being made. I get an email every time someone posts anywhere on the site. Since early this morning my mailbox has been full as new posts have been made every few minutes.
As a reader I've been enjoying the information about Faro, the O Bistro, Woodland Tavern and other changes in the restaurant scene. The restaurant section is one of the most popular areas of the forum (and also causes most of my headaches). |

Yeah, Kinda figured. I still enjoy reading ever BIT of it. We will soon be part of the year round crowd and knowing a good restaurant will NO doubt be valuable information! Thanks for keeping it interesting.

Same here but my problem is that only some of it comes off after the season. I have a few trousers in different sizes lurking in the back of my closet to remind me. I hate when that happens!
