Tour of the Lake circa 1929
I was on You Tube this morning (actually for business) and in the "Up Next" column I noticed the below video .......
Perhaps this has been posted in the past, but I do not honestly recall seeing it. Essentially the video is the splicing of someone's old (c1929) 16mm family films. Although the video is quite long (35minute+) if you wish to cut to the chase -- be sure to watch between minutes 19 to 25 of the video where the family boards the old Mt Washington and gives a video tour around the Lake -- Bear Island Post Office & Centre Harbor stops as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN7ji0NEGnk Quite Fascinating .

great video!
Thanks for re-posting the link Phantom, I missed it the first time around!
Great footage from the Mount tour including a few minutes of Camp Idlewild... 1929 was 3 years before my dad went there, and 35 years before I went... but all the activities looked just the same... lot's of row boats, the aquaplane behind the Riot speedboat, the docks with the diving tower, etc!!! Summer may be over, but summer weather continues... what a beautiful week to be on the island -PIG |
