I was wondering if anyone could offer feedback on the Mercury Outboard Vorado line. They are a supercharged four stroke and I was curious if anyone could offer reviews or comparisons. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the article. These things sound pretty amazing. I think I have finally talked my dad into one too. Can't wait to play around with it.

Nice engine. Have you looked at the Evinrude V-tec?

The VERADO is a supercharged Mercury 4stroke, while the Evinrude E-Tec (V-Tec is honda) is a two stroke. Now the Etec will be the faster motor, its been proven. However the Mercury is definetly the better motor overall, all the tuning on the motor is electronic and makes everything dead on accurate. I would hands down say the mercury is the better motor. There are a lot of other reasons to go with the mercury also, just ask around, too many to post.

Will,I've heard from a very good source that it is a throwaway motor.4 years of life ,at the most. There is just too much power for that small block........I'd go Honda

The Suzuki line-up of four stroke outboards are known for realiability, long life, easy starting, quiet running and not-too-thirsty on their gasoline use. Y-Landing Marina on Meredith Neck and across from Pine Island is the only Lake Winnipesaukee Suzuki Dealer and has been for maybe 15-20 years. Y-Landing knows Suzuki big time!

Heard a lot of good things about these. I'm sure Merc has done there homework on them but only time and use in the real world will be the deciding factor.
Like Samian said , they are getting a lot out of a little , but with quality components , normal maintenance , and common sense ( ![]()
