Exactly what they need, someone from Massachusetts to tell you how it is supposed to be, lol. Tollbooths on trails.
Why pay anyone? |

Registering a sled is now going to be $100 per sled; pending legislative approval. If this the guy is the behind this proposal then he should go back to Massachusetts. The idea behind the increase is to bail out clubs in Coos County with the exception of Pittsburg. Stop the bail outs and send the tax and spend types back to where they came from.

This proposal has come from NHSA "Past President" Charles Kurtz.
The last I have heard he is still "Shopping Coos County" for a "State Legislator" to present this idea. It was brought up at an NHSA Board of Directors Meeting a couple of months ago, long before now Executive Director, Dan Gould was hired. I have not heard of any opinion he has voiced on the issue yet. There have been several opinions voiced that "WE" would most likely prefer to spend our money in Maine or Vermont if such a high registration FEE was enacted. Mr. Kurtz is part of what is known as the "NHSA Cabal". My thoughts are totally 90 degrees from Mr. Kurtz. I would like to find a Legislator who would help change the existing RSA that spells out Who is eligible for the Registration Discount by eliminating the tie to NHSA. It would read that you must be Member of a "Not for Profit Snowmobile Club" Registered with the New Hampshire Secretary of State or other applicable Division. Correct me if I am wrong, the original intent of the RSA was to encourage MEMERSHIP in NH "CLUBS" not to grow NHSA. The NHSA Online Membership program is basically there to shift the burden of maintaining a Member Database from the NHSA Office to EACH NHSA Member Club. It is now up to each Club to input and Maintain the Database. We were the third largest Club, Moultonboro SMC, in New Hampshire this past Season (do to good Snow fall) with 724 Members of which only 11 came through the NHSA website. We had 140+ Members join through our new Online Membership Webpage this Season. We are looking forward to a greater percentage of Memberships through this site in the upcoming 2017-2018 Season. Anyone got an influential FREND in the Legislature willing to take this up? Last edited by WINNOCTURN; 07-29-2017 at 11:42 AM. |

Thank you for the clarification. Who ever is pushing for higher fees; let's send them packing...to some where else.
