I would like to know why my thread about our snowmobile trip keeps getting removed? It is in the snowmobile thread if anyone is interested. The trip is not just for snowmobilers anyone would enjoy the trip!!!!

Are you referring to the thread that appears in the "Snowmobiling" section?

My guess is that you opened a second thread under the same name, concerning the same topic -- so the Webmaster probably removed the duplicate before responses were posted to it.

Webmaster should have notified you he removed it and for what reason...that would have been the nice thing to do...

DVA -- I would dare say that the vast majority of members of the Forum utilize the "New Posts" button (which separates all new posts made since their last login) as opposed to going straight to a sub category and reviewing threads.
The sub categories ( at least for me) help when searching back for topics or items as they are in the various categories set by the Webmaster as opposed to one huge bucket. ~~ Just trying to be helpful ~~

FAQ page is always good readin’y
I guess if I continued to post, and the moderator continued to remove, I’d quickly get the message. These complaints come up on occasion, which always steers me back to Don’s FAQ page, including the following:
“... All posts are reviewed by the moderator. The moderator reserves the right to remove, edit, move, moderate, restrict or close any message or thread for any reason. The moderator will enforce these rules at his sole discretion...” Having been moderated by our esteemed moderator on occasion many moons ago, I take nothing Don does to my post, if necessary, personally as I have a great appreciation of the work he has done to keep this site relevant, interesting and the go to page for all things Winnipesaukee! |

Recently, there have been way too many non-lake-related posts on here that need to go in the non-lake-related area. What does sinus congestion and Yellowstone snowmobiling have to do with Winni?

I see nothing wrong with asking a little medical advice from forum members and the Yellowstone trip is originating from the lake area so it is Lake related I use the Winnipesaukee forum app and it is awesome and works better than Tapatalk in my opinion. thinkxingu -- Reality is, there is no current category listed as "non-lake-related" so your Tap-Talk isn't missing anything ............ perhaps gillygirl is suggesting one be created ????
Skip - your point is spot on -- we all must remember that we are playing in the Webmasters sandbox.... created , maintained and supported by him and him alone for the benefit of the Lakes Regions enthusiasts. I (as I am sure the vast majority) think he has given us a FANTASTIC Forum for news, information, and opinions. With that said - I also do not think that dva was challenging Don - merely curious as to what happened to his thread . Thus (to take the burden directly off Don) I feel it is the responsibility of us more experienced members to help, train, and explain to others in this Forum .............. thus the rationale behind my posts.

Sorry, I thought the General Issues sub-forum was non-lake related. My bad.
