Lead core question

Do people use LC line with down riggers? Reason I ask is on “fish lake Winni” Facebook page someone said he was fishing LC line 30-40 feet off the riggers.
Just curious why lead core AND down riggers?

Yes quite often. Many fishermen like the way lead line moves and presents their lure or fly. The long flowing movements of lead line especially in corners is liked by many over running straight mono or fluorocarbon.

Another reason lead is run off riggers is when bottom fishing for Lakers. Some will keep their rigger ball up 10’ from the bottom and run a couple colors of lead off the ball. This keeps your lure or live bait right on the bottom. This method works well when fishing on sandy flat bottoms especially when dragging a live shiner.

By the way how did the Locke’s marker situation play out? Billy from Locke’s said he hadn’t seen it replaced at one point yesterday around 5 pm.

I can’t quite see it from my place and I didn’t fish today (fair weather fishermen �� ) so not sure. Going out in the morning so I will check then.

Marine Patrol did respond quickly to my call as they sent someone out right away to look for it...

No.... This is from the link you provided..... “Current state law prohibits the use of lead sinkers and jigs with a total weight of one ounce or less in all fresh water in New Hampshire”

Yes you are mistaken, again read this from your sourced link. Pretty straight forward and answers your question directly, please refer to the words “not include” ....

“Lead sinkers and lead jigs shall not include lead fishing related items, including but not limited to lead core line, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, spoons, poppers, plugs, or flies.”
