New Home Builders

I am looking to build a new home this summer on the lake? I have talked to a few builders in the area. Does anyone have any recomendations, warnings of who to use or stay away from? Also it seems that the builders all seem to be much higher than expected. I have my own plans and could probably build here in Ma. for about 20% less. Figured it would be the other way around...Does anyone have any experience with bringing in builders from outside the area?..

When building on a new lot in NH. The paperwork and fees can add up to $15,000 to the cost of a new home!
It pays to shop around. It helps if you can get the builder to do a home owner's warranty for a few years.

I've heard wonderful things about Barton Construction 603-455-4125. He has done lots of work in the area and he just did Extream Home Makeover.(to be aired Sept, 27th 2009) He's also done alot of work for the Marriotts. Give him a call, he has a great crew and shows up for work.
