The video was taken from in front of my place at the northern end of Bear. The island in the background is Pine Island.

That's got to be the same lonely black bear from the Camp Menotomy-Girl Scouts camp who gets so BORED with all the loneliness at Camp Menotomy since it closed down. A bear's life at the desolate Camp Menotomy 100-acre shoreline, tall pines forest and wetlands is soooo very monotonous since the Girl Scouts stopped going there .... no more Girl Scout cookies for a good bear!
www.facebook.com/campmenotomy/ ...... the Camp Menotomy black bear says: What the black bear heck is this word Menotomy and why is it so waterfront 100-acre nice and yet so deserted ....... makes little sense ....... woof-woof-bear woof? Bear Island is his HAPPY place with great left-overs from steak 'n ribs, bar-b-q sauce, and buttered corn-on-the-cob still on a warm grill. Is a smooth steady bear paddle across 300-yards calm Lake Winnipesaukee waters to get to the good stuff, over there, with that happy, happening Bear Island .... sniff-sniff-sniff ... stroke-stroke-stroke. It always amazes me how the larger animals, the bear and deer seem to know they are safe from hunters here, what with the Camp Menotomy forest 100-acres all posted with many black & yellow signs, and Bear Island being an island ..... they really do seem to know they are safe from getting shot ..... here ...... where the bear and the deer come to NH summer camp. In New Hampshire, it is unlawful to hunt deer or bear on islands, or in the water of any lake or pond in the state.
