Looking for someone to repair permanent wooden dock that doesn’t need to be replaced, in Moultonborough area. TIA for a reliable recommendation.

Maybe stop into Belletetes Lumber, Moultonborough, and ask someone there or look to see if there's a business card board with local people's business cards.

Fantastic dock repairs
We're 30+ year Moultonborough residents. Over those years, we have encountered many a tough winter and some, have caused significant damage. We have used many of the local marine repair companies over the years however, none come close to the caliber of Marine Solutions in Meredith. Last year we met with Tim and Brian MacDonald (brother owners) to review options for our badly needed dock repairs. They were quick to respond with a field assessment, an estimate with documented work to be completed all with time frames for completion. Not only did they repair our dock beautifully, they were fair, came to work everyday and treated us beautifully! Tim & Brian are neat, respectful of our property, the lake and just quality people. A comment about other marine repair companies we have dealt with; regrettably, most bite off more than they can handle, come and give you a few hours of work and then disappear for 4-5 days. Tim & Brian were the opposite, they arrived when they said they would, sent pics of their work when we weren't there to observe and were just a complete pleasure to deal with.
Their # in Meredith is 603-366-6233 Impossible for us to give them a better review, they made a difficult and stressful situation enjoyable. Hope this helps! |

What needs to be done with it?
I have some guys that I use that are great. Depending on the scope of work they may be able to do it, and can get to it right away. They are doing a bunch of filler jobs now before starting a reno down on Treasure in September. |

I agree…what’s the scope of the job you want done? Perhaps one of the retired guys on here with carpentry skills could fix whatever it is you need?
A couple dock boards or something more involved? |

Somewhat Off-Topic...
I had occasion to meet our dock's bubbler-service owner last month . (I'd overlooked their bill!)
I asked if a sturdy metal beam (or a heavy chain) attached to the outer pilings nearest the ice--and long enough to conduct the "heat" upwards from the water--would be advisable. He thought for a moment and said, "It depends on the wind. I've watched huge ice-floes traveling at speeds that simply couldn't be stopped." He added that maybe the metal would offer a sharp surface to break up the "leading edge" trying to push the piling out from under the dock. I forgot to ask if my neighbor's several intact pilings lying on the lake's bottom (but now around our dock) could be re-used. Maybe member John Mercer can opine. |
