Dockside in Alton
I forgot to ask this a couple of weeks ago when we were up at the lake. Has Dockside in Alton Bay been sold? It looks as if the place was redone. Anyone been there? We used to take the kids and the food was pretty good (not great, really), but a good bargain.
Is it still kid-friendly? I miss the old sign - they put up a new one while we were there in June. It looks older and a bit tackier than the old one! I've been around so long I remember when Dockside was Myrtle Ann's and there was a sandwich shop across the way called Land Ho. Ah, the good old days. . . . nj2nh

Back to the Dockside
We visited the dockside recently, and were pleasantly surprised at the changes inside. As you enter the door, there is a pub area to the right, with a small bar and a few tables. To the left, is the dining room...still with tables by the windows. The biggest change is that it is about twice the size. Where there was a full room length divider running from the parking lot end wall to where the cash register used to be, well, it is gone, and the whole left side of the building is dining room
Menu has changed, still reasonable, and the food was good, and service was good as well. I would say it is kid friendly (the few folks who were in the bar were not loud or raucous when we were there.) and would have no problem taking my grandchildren there (just not all 8 of them at once ... the restaurant could handle it, I just couldn't afford it !)

I received a private message from the former owner of the Dockside who wanted to set the record straight....
