Shore Things,

Are there any weekend workshops planned? Anything geared more towards homeowners? I was interested in the landscaping for wildlife and landscaping at water's edge to contain runoff

Thanks,

Default Any online references

Was there any mention of putting their presentations on the DES website so that those that missed it could get some education on the new laws, granted it wouldn't be as good as being there.

Steadyon,

Now I really want to go...but I work during the week. Any chance of a weekend workshop?

School will be out in a month, are there future workshops planned? I could do midweek then.

A workshop on a weekend or an on-line powerpoint presention would be very beneficial to all. It is a bit hard to make a workshop on a weeknight/weekday and with only about 8 high-temp weekends during the summer months here an on-line presentation would be great

We do intend to put copies of the presentations on line. Unfortunately we do not have video.

Also, we do want to do more of these and we(DES) are willing to do one on a weekend. I think many of our speakers could accomodate a weekend workshop with enough advance notice.

However we need some help... we need suggestions for venues. Ideally we want to be close enough to the water that there can be some outdoor field application or hands-on sessions. We need parking and accessibility. To do what we did today we need at least 3 maybe 4 conference rooms that we can set up AV equipment in. We also need space for vendors and the ability to get everyone fed either on site or very near to the site Church Landing is a great venue and we will be scheduling future events there. But it is first and foremost, a hotel, and we can't book it on a weekend. We are starting our search for other venue options immediately so we can try to fit another workshop in this summer. If anyone has site suggestions, PLEASE, share them.

I also attended today as a vendor. I am very glad I did go, and one of my employees also enjoyed the day there. When I told him what we were doing today he kind of rolled his eyes and said oh what fun( very sarcasticly) At the end of th eday he was glad I made him go.
It was very informative and very well done/set up. I will deffinatly do it again if I am invited back.
Shorethings did I get to meet you today?

Possibly the Town of Meredith Community Center could be used? It is located about one mile north of the Inn at Church Point on Route 3/25, has parking, a large meeting room , additional rooms, and I believe it can be rented.

sunrise,
The DES website is really well done and you can go to the CSPA area where they have updates to the bills and laws.
they are very informative.
Darleen Forst at the DES is a wizard with the changes and the permitting, contact her and I am sure she will assist you.
