Default Winnipesaukee Belle - any experiences?

Any comments on renting the Winnipesaukee Belle for a 50th Anniversary party? How was the food, etc.? Thank you for any comments out there!

Default Since you asked.....

Last year we at WCYC rented it for our annual club dinner party. Some of us were not satisfied with the service we got (namely me).... We ordered the lobster/clam bake with steaks for the ones who don't eat seafood. The party was for 80 people and we supplied the band. Would you believe they ran out of food... Not just the corn and potatoes but the steaks as well, the last five of us in line just got salads and rolls to eat... We complained to the owner of the Inn (who was with us on the cruise), he said, "Gee, that's to bad, but we served 80 meals, just what you paid for." Some of us went home hungry and disappointed that we paid $29 for all the salad and rolls we could eat.

So here's the tip.... If it’s a combination meal, give out tickets with the proper meal on it and make sure they (the Inn) bring enough for everyone and then some. What if someone get s a bad lobster, stake or what have you, don't you think it would be nice to have a backup instead of someone dissatisfied to the point where they need to air it out here....

We did count how many guests on board and we had and we only had 79 including the band members. It was just poor planning on the Inn’s part, which they never offered to make right.

Thumbs down Wolfeboro Inn/ Belle

I had terrible experiences dealing with the folks that own Wolfeboro Inn and the husband who is the Captain of the Belle. They quoted a different price when I met with them and then when I received teh contract which was late. After emailing and calling several times, the owner Hilary stated that she had been busy and always had an excuse. When it came down to it, she ended up giving the boat to another party. I also heard a similiar story to the one posted before me about running ouot of food and they had to go back. In the meantime tehy served pretzels!

I won't be using them or going there again. I think there are plenty of other places to go to. What about the Brewster boat house? Sandtrap? Wolfetrap? How many guests do you plan on having?

If you end up with the "Winnipesaukee Belle", please don't have them blast "Rap Music" with their bleepin' -- €#@?Œ©! ¶¥§ßÄ! -- lyrics from their loudspeakers as they creep by Lake Winnipesaukee's residents and guests.

We also had a poor experience with them. We were going to use the Belle for an out of town event and were told that our guests at the inn would need to stay there for three nights at 250 a night. We thought that was a bit ridiculous given the amount they were going to charge us for the boat. Needless to say we went elsewhere. Our experiences with the owners were horrible as well, they just weren't at all customer service oriented.
