File this one under "What the...?"
Did a few dives with Dive Winnipesaukee last Sunday, including the area around Ship Island. On our way back toward the boat after finding two wrecks, Senter Cove Guy and I came across -- get this -- a lobster trap. Yep, no mistaking this one. It was old, and not worth bringing up, but there was no mistaking it. It was in about 30-40 feet of water just east of Ship. Did I miss something? Are they growing exceptionally large crawfish in that part of the Lake these days? Forgot to mention it to Senter Cove Guy following the dive, but we both saw it. I wonder if someone threw it in as a joke, or lost it on the way out to the island (as part of a decorating scheme). Interesting find, nonetheless... |
