Sandwich Fair

It was a beautiful day and a light crowd at the Fair Monday. Foliage was a little further along then usual, golds still brilliant but most of the reds already past. I got my sausage and pepper grinder fix at Cathy's Place and it was one of the better ones I've had.

I went to the fair on Sunday - While good, its hard to believe they get $7 for a sausage, roll, and 1/4 cup of peppers & onions.. anyone else think that is kind of steep?

A little steep, yes but have you bought a de angelos sub lately?witch isnt as good as a saugage sub?

What is cheap at the fair? I bought my dog 3 milk bone biscuits with a dribble of frosting on them for 3.00 At home I get him a huge box of the same thing for 5.00 So who's the idiot? Wait, I am.

LOL.....You are a true NH native if you bring your dog to the fair; buy him 3 dog biscuits and then complain about the price you paid.

If you ever want to start a food concession at one of the fairs.....I recommend fried dough......paid $6 at Fryburg Fair......cost around .30
That's a 5% food cost compared to 34 to 40% at your local restaurant.

Samian: Why don't more restaurants offer more "fair" type food? You know fried dough, big sausage sandwich, Bloomin Onions? They already have the deep fryer in place. Just a thought, I would think it would be a big hit.

Aren't all fairs out of this world for prices. That's just part of the fun of going to a fair. They were like that 60 years ago when I was a kid. Ya the prices were cheaper, but so wasn't money hard to come by. My parents always seem to scrape up alittle extra for us kids to have one special thing.

dpg, how the heck did you get the dog into the fair. It seems everywhere I looked there was large signs saying defiantly no dogs allowed and do not leave them in your car. My friend got one of the people that they parked their car in the their yard to watch theirs and gave them $20 plus the $8 for parking.

No, no, I didn't bring my dog INTO the fair, he was at home. The treats came in a little bag with a ribbon on it. The ribbon did nothing for him.
