"Lakers" were a Style of boat built in the early 20th Century. They were also sometimes called "Long Deck Launches". They were "displacement" hulls so were long and narrow so they could slip through the water with modest power. At the time, marine engines were low powered and very heavy.

"Planing" hulls were not yet invented, as they had to wait for more powerful and lightweight engines to appear on the scene. NB

EDIT: HH (Antique) Boat Museum (Wolfeboro) usually has "Old' boats listed for sale on their website. http://www.nhbm.org/
