Default Yes?

Matty, I am 99% sure they do PWCs, because my Sea Doo has a VSC sticker on it from a couple years ago. I guess the previous owner had it checked. I would assume they still do them.

Yes, we do perform VSC's on Jet Ski's. PWC's and ski craft are considered inboard vessels and come under the same rules and requirements of other vessels. If you would like to read up on these requirements go to the following link: http://www.boat-ed.com/nh/handbook/

Yes, Fat Jack, this program is a result of the Lakes Region Sail & Power Squadron. One of our many programs for educating the boating community on Boating Safety.

If anyone is interested in the Power Squadron or would like to become a member, I would be happy to talk with you about it (send me private email). In the meantime, you can learn more about the United States Power Squadron at http://www.usps.org/ and the Lakes Region Sail & Power Squadron at http://www.lrsps.org/.

DoftheMattysort - just look for the Vessel Examiners, they will be the ones in the bright red polo shirts carrying clip boards. I'll actually be at the Weirs on June 11th.

Remember all, vessel safety checks are voluntary, strictly confidential, free and the process is one of “prevention through education, outreach and volunteer compliance” helping recreational boaters to gain a respect for the boating environment.

We look forward to seeing you and others at one of our schedule VSC days.

Thumbs up Vsc

I had my boat out on my driveway in Hooksett Thursday night. I was getting ready to take off to the big lake, and a gentleman was walking up the driveway. He ask if I wanted to have a VSC. I said sure and he did it right there! Talk about timing and dedication.
It seems as he was a member of the auxilary and when driving by, couldn't help notice a boat without a sticker.
Kudos to the USCGA!

Kudos' to you BroadHopper for getting it done. Your boat doesn't even have to be in the water to be inspected -- many times we do VSC's at marina's which dry rack and as long as the marina can bring the boat down on the fork lift, we can do an inspection. I might try this one -- just canvas the neighborhood for boats on trailers -- I like it.

Thanks again.

Just a reminder that any Marine Patrol Officer or Marine Patrol Auxiliary would be happy to give a courtesy inspection.

Default VSE at Minge Cove on June 18th

Hey Outlaw: Inadvertently, this was not on the schedule, but there will be two safety examiners (guess who) at Minge Cove Marina on June 18th from 10am to 2pm.
Hope to see a bunch of good folks there, and also hope it's not going to be 95 degrees again!

Misty Blue -

Unfortunately, we have no members in the LRSPS who are also USCG Aux. in order to perform the inspection you require. I would suggest for this inspection that you contact the USCG, in particular the 1st District as you mentioned to see where you can get this inspection done.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Talking I Had Mine!

I had my Vessel Safety Check today at Fay's Boat Yard. I even had it done by Forum Member donnamatrix! I got to meet her husband as well. Very nice people. And yes I passed with having all required items. I did have some expired flares which I will properly dispose of.

Donna even told me I can most likely save on my insurance because I passed the inspection. Everyone should have the inspection. It is not difficult to comply with and it is for everyone's benifit. Common sense items are what is required.

Default VSC's this weekend

Just wanted to bring this thread up to the top again as this weekend is the last scheduled weekend for Vessel Safety Checks performed by the Lake Regions Sail & Power Squadron.

However, if you are not able to make it this weekend and would like a VSC, contact me and I will get you the information you need to schedule one.

Happy and Safe Boating to all.
