At this time of year, the whitetails are rutting, and so the hormones are surging and they are seeking mates, which causes them to run around and take chances they otherwise would not. That's why you see them on the roads more often. ?Be careful out there!

This month is a big month for deer kill, but March is worse. Interestingly, moose kill rises in the summer while deer kill is reduced. The chart below is based on reported animal kills over the last 20 years in Moultonborough.
