Thanks for that tip! I went to two different Verizon stores for my husband's "upgrade" and complained both time to no avail. I should've known to call. Any time we've done anything via phone, they've waived any surcharges (they used to charge $10 to swap numbers) because we've been with Verizon since the mid 90's.

I'm glad to see the posts in this thread. I have been contemplating leaving Verizon, but will probably hang in for a while. They have the coverage we need.
