I'd like to be there, but I expect it to be too crowded and too chaotic for me to enjoy it. Do you think he'll make a promise to read to the kids and then bail on them like his opponent?

Wonder how long this thread will last?
This thread should spiral out of control rather quickly. Wonder how long it lasts before it is removed or locked. I say it does not last the day.

If this thread is going to go off the rails I figured we should do it with a smile! If there is one thing the whole forum seems to agree with it is the greatness of Dogs!!
Dog Elected Mayor Of Cormorant, Minnesota — Again Duke may be the most popular politician in America, winning re-election for a landmark third time in a landslide. What’s his secret? Probably the fact that he’s a dog, and everyone loves dogs. In a vote held over the weekend, the 9-year-old Great Pyrenees won his third consecutive term as mayor of Cormorant, Minnesota. Voters paid $1 each to cast ballots in the election, which was held during the annual “Cormorant Daze” festival. “Everybody voted for Duke, except for one vote for his girlfriend, Lassie,” David Rick, Duke’s owner, told local ABC station WDAY. As mayor, Duke appears on three highway billboards promoting the community. While Duke’s role is somewhat unusual, he’s not the first animal to be elected to office in the U.S. Roadtrippers has a fascinating look at some of the nation’s non-human mayors, including two other dogs, a cat, a cow and a beer-drinking goat named Mayor Clay Henry III. |

Trump Rally
Just got word that my brother hooked me up with a ticket. The rally starts at 7:30, and gates open at 3:30. I'm hoping that I can get in.

I support Trump as the only viable alternative to Hillary but I won't be attending the event.
I'd rather yield my space to someone who is on the fence. They can see the man in person and make up their mind, hopefully to vote for him. |

.....hey Melania, just look what I got up in Laconia!
I wonder if a public forum similar to this is safe to do in today's Russia......or, in Russia today, do citizens only make positive comments concerning Vladimir Putin, and keep their opposing comments quiet?
From 1917-1989 in the Soviet Union regime of Russia, one never had to go too far to find their local communist party, and everyone probably kept their opinions very quiet so the party would not come looking for you. ................ Here's a friendly suggestion for Donald: Suggest he stops at the Laconia Wal-Mart, very close to his Laconia Airport airplane landing spot while enroute to the Middle School and go get himself an exercise bicycle for working out on his plane. You know that just twenty minutes/day of pedaling a stationary bike would probably do him a lot of fitness good. As you may have heard, yesterday, Dr. Oz on tv called the Donald "almost obese" because he weighs not 237-lbs as he claimed but actually 267-lbs, and not the 198-lbs as was previously reported by Donald. He is 6'2" tall, not the 6'3", and weighs 267-lbs (NY Times)? If true ...... that is way, way too much weight. A healthy weight for him is 210-lbs, and not 267-lbs....so he is about 57-lbs overweight.....which is a lot.......what a fat pig! .... and he is not just almost obese but is obese. .....for just 98-dollars, the Laconia Wal-Mart has a small stationary exercise bicycle that could be used on the airplane while watching tv.

That dog is way to old to be Mayor! A 9 year old Great Pyrenees has got to be 99 in dog years. Time for term limits.

This has really been a weird presidential campaign and it's going to take a lot of work for the next president to bring everyone back together, but I have confidence that she can do it.

Pretty easy to explain why. Political Correctness has fractured the citizens of this country from being just plain Americans into some iteration of hyphenated American and once those groups are established then the process of pitting one against the other ensues. The political class love this and exploit it for all it's worth. After all it's a great way to buy support with other people's money.

I just noticed that no one has resorted to name calling. Very unusual to have a political debate pop up without it going downhill quickly.
Speaks well for the the people on this forum. |

The Trump rally was terrific. He was on point and focused. The crowd was enthusiastic; there was a lot of energy in the room.

I think that whoever wins the presidential election in November should get the honor of cutting the hair of the loser. I would love to see what Trump looks like bald.

.... nice hairdo Donald!
So, what's going on with the donald's hair ...... how did it look last night? ..... he seems to usually be wearing a hat, but mostly when outdoors? Was he wearing a hat inside the Laconia Middle School last night?
Anyone there at the Middle School get to muss up his hair like on late night tv? 'A hair surgeon explains what is going on with Trump's hair': http://www.businessinsider.com/hair-...s-hair-2015-12 ....... (1,389,546 views, 1:29) The donald .... has had something like two surgical hair transplant procedures ...... according to a hair transplant surgeon, as he sees it? Who knew ..... and I thought it was 100% totally natural ...... just like the color ...... who knew? As Abraham Lincoln said back on September 2, 1858 ... 158-years ago: "He (Donald Trump) may fool all the people some of the time; he can even fool some of the people all the time, but he can't fool all the people all the time."

No matter what you think of this election cycle, Trump's 15 minutes of fame is almost up. The next couple months will be full of "interesting" stuff, but at the end of the day, he can go back to the most important thing in his life, collecting money. He is unelectable - both due to the electoral process and due to his own doing.

What's cool about this is that you did the same thing the media did last fall with pics of Sanders and Clinton rallies and the reports of debate 'winners' that contradicted actual polls. I don't care what my students come to believe--not a single one of them knows what my personal beliefs are--but I care very much that they're educated enough to spot manipulative rhetoric before making their decisions. Also the politician books the "type of event" to fit the expected turnout at said event. Hillary has been appearing other organisation's rallies for as a guest for most of her large turnouts, her events have been more like the one APS posted. Trump on the other hand has been attracting large crowds. You call it manipulation, I see truth. Oh, and I would much rather see you teach your students to ignore the rhetoric completely and go to the source, which is very easy to do now days. Trump's speeches are easily found via youtube in their entirety, as are Hilary's. And, like event attendance the differences are astounding and very unlike what is portrayed in the news. Edit: Woodguy53 post where the picture is from, I hope you are more honest with your students. |

Apples vs Oranges
https://m.mic.com/articles/122531/on...-is#.cVDNZSktJ
Key takeaway from the link above: "What it means: While Sanders ability to attract huge crowds is a key narrative of the campaign so far, crowd size is a notoriously imperfect indicator of a candidate's prospects in a coming election. In the days leading up to the 2012 presidential election, Republican nominee Mitt Romney played to roaring crowds in a number of states, including Ohio. On Election Day, he would lose there by more than 100,000 votes." I believe the largest single campaign rally in the U.S. was at Fenway Park in '68 where 60,000+ turned out for our beloved president to-be... .Eugene McCarthy. |

Hypocritical Bernie... poor guy being manipulated by the corrupt Clinton/DNC juggernaut. I wonder how much it took to pay him off to all of a sudden play nice. He has no creditability on the subject - not that MSNBC has any, oh that's right who watches them anyways? Nobody!
He railed against the establishment, now he praises it, where's his integrity? Oh right can't have that and support Clinton at the same time. |

Bernie just turned 75 this month, and his 6-year senate term runs till the end of 2018. In August, he bought a rustic, older waterfront, summer house on Lake Champlain in North Hero, Vermont with 500' of shoreline.
http://www.heavy.com/news/2016/08/be...c-wife-jane/2/ Wonder what Bernie will get for a boat, and does Lake Champlain have a speed limit? ..... will Bernie be driving a Donzi with a name on the transom such as 'Power to the People' ...... or maybe ...... 'Feel the Bern' ..... budda-boom....budda-boom....budda-boom..... go Bernie go! 'Feel the Bern' would be a super-good name for Bernie's new, used go-fast...... don't u thinkum! One of the photos shows the home is located on somewhat of a point in the shoreline, and there is a long dock with a boat lift and a canopy cover, but no boat is visible .... so that means Bernie needs a boat! .....yup! ..... just like you say Maxum ........ "poor guy" ....... poor poor poooor Bernie!

I think for myself, thank you. Your boy was bashing capitalism all during his campaign. Yet amazingly, as soon as he's snuffed by Clinton and the DNC, he's buying a $600,000.00 lake house? Funny how capitalism ain't so bad when it suits him and his ilk. True hypocrites, and truly deplorable.

Traded for a summer home in Maine inherited from Mrs. Sanders parents.
http://www.snopes.com/2016/08/10/ber...s-summer-home/
O'Meara Sanders said that she had inherited a vacation home in Maine, but the family was unable to make use of it due to its distance from their primary residence in Vermont, so she sold it and used the proceeds to finance the purchase of a more suitable vacation home in North Hero: “My family had a lake home in Maine since 1900, but we hadn’t had the time to go there in recent years — especially since my parents passed away,” she said. “We finally let go of it and that enabled us to buy a place in the islands — something I’ve always hoped for.” |

In the 8:43 MSNBC interview of Senator Sanders from my post #45, Bernie mentions his seven grand-kids, and four kids, and explains why he very strongly wants Hillary to get elected president. U know he just turned age-75.
That MSNBC video link in my post #45 also includes some recent videos from Hillary and Donald, separately, including the entirety of Donald saying that President Barack Obama is a US citizen, born in Hawaii, in the el crapo way that only the donald talks .... i.e. donaldese tough-guy spoken thuggery with his thug glare!

Snopes has dismissed criticism of Bernie, but why does Snopes always revert to statements by the accused? (Michelle says it isn't true, Hillary says it's a conspiracy, Barack says it's conspiracy-driven, Ms Bernie says she paid for it from inheritance monies). Quote:

Oh well.....sew buttons and a bag of beans about Hillary! ....and what about Franklin Roosevelt who was president from March 4, 1933 to April 12, 1945, when he died at age-63. In April 1921, he was diagnosed with polio at age-39. Television was not here till about 1951, and television would not have been good for Roosevelt. FDR was very good on the radio!
The donald is about 60-lbs overweight as he weighs about 267-lbs, and is 6'2" tall which makes him obese ..... no surprise there ..... just look at him! At age 68 and 70, it sure seems like both Hillary and Donald are both too danged old to be running for president. Ronald Reagan was in better health, it seems, when he started his presidency at age-69, just two weeks before turning 70. www.time.com/4030136/martin-omalley-video/ Would be very surprised to see Hillary or Donald singing on Wall St like this. Here's the guy who the Democrats should have been supporting as a candidate, Martin O'Malley, age-53......who unfortunately went nowhere in the primaries. Plus, he sings and strums a guitar, and does songs like 'What do you do with a drunken sailor?' https://twitter.com/MartinOmalley?re...c%5Egoogle%7Ct

Do you get your news from CNN, MSNBC, ABS, CBS and the other overtly biased mainstream media that do nothing but provide cover for Clinton? This latest "bombing" incident is a perfect example. She used the word "bombing" at the very same time Trump did. However, CNN chose to edit her statements, thus removing the word "bombing". Then they turned right around and crucified Trump for using the same exact statement she did. Totally pathetic. See, it works both ways. |

Nothing even close to this punching assault incident took place at the Laconia rally.....everyone was very well behaved in Laconia ......but not so in Asheville, North Carolina on Sept 12.......go figure? Includes a 1:21 video of the rally crowd and a 68-year old woman holding a 'Dump Trump' sign and hooked up to a portable oxygen breather tank supposedly getting punched out by a 73-year old man.......is a little chaotic during the assault punch out. So, all things considered.....Laconia was an incident free Donald Trump rally.......way to go Laconia! Supposedly, according to the report, she said to him something like; "With Trump, you will soon be talk'n Russian" or something, and he immediately hit her. Apparently, her comment struck a sensitive issue with him, and he smacked her .... and now he has a big legal problem with local justice system. Wonder if the case will be heard by a jury, or by a single judge?

..... M.S. St Louis tragedy
Quote:
www.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_St._Louis www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordell_Hull Big surprise: Secretary of State Cordell Hull, an Episcopalian, was married (1917-1954, her death) to a Jewish woman, Rose Witz, originally from Austria.....and he advised President Roosevelt not to let the M.S. St Louis dock ashore and unload Jewish passengers into the United States. Cordell Hull remains the longest serving secretary of state, for 11-years, from 1933-44. Times have changed since 1939; today's 114th congress, 2015-2017 has 10 Jewish senators, 9-Democrats and 1-independent, and the House of Representatives has 18-Democrats and 1-Republican. Am trying to determine what was number of Jewish senators and congressmen in May, 1939? It had to be much fewer than today? ............. So, how does this relate to today's two candidates, Hillary vs Donald ...... which one is the better choice and why?

Trump on the other hand at least (with no so called "experience") can easily identify who the problem and suggests simply shut the freaking door. Furthermore states that unless or until we are in a position to properly figure out who these people are, where they came from and under what circumstances their entry into this country is beneficial to us, no entry. To that point his ideas of putting some level of scrutiny on those that are already here certainly makes sense as well. Seems pretty darn logical to me... but then again having been to the middle east in the gulf war I saw enough to know that I don't like or want that kind of violent chaos, stone aged culture or their crazy religion (I use that word very loosely) here in the US. We have enough problems already to deal with - why openly import more? |

The amount of refugees the President wants to allow in this country doesn't come out of thin air -- it must be chosen in consultation with Congress. Moreover, the president and Congress set budgets for the agencies involved in resettlement.
Some people who are posting here are depending on the media for all their information and don't have a clue as to how government is really run.

Refugees, Earpiece Rumor, "Crowds"...
Quote:
As for the "refugees", most of the murderers of Americans were sons of similarly-inclined "refugees". Orlando- and San Bernardino attacks come to mind. Quote:
______________ I will look for the following at the debates, as it is rumored that Hillary has an earpiece that connects her electronically with her aides. The rumor: Quote:
______________ Headline: Clinton/Kaine Rally Draws “Crowd of Dozens” In Pennsylvania… ______________ Quote:
Gates strung across the gymnasium floor controlling close-in access to Hillary made the crowd look bigger than it was (to network cameras, who were restrained to a position even further away). Manipulation is very evident to those who analyze it. . |

....not Carter, Bush-41, Clinton, Bush-43 or Reagan!
It seems to me that it is safe to say that every former president; Carter, Bush-41, Clinton, and Bush-43 will all probably be voting for Hillary. Voting is a secret ballot and one does know for certain but think about it.
Will both Bush's, father and son, be of the same mind as son and brother Jeb, and vote for Hillary........it sure seems like they will, yes. How about Ronald Reagan, who passed away in 2004 at age-94 ...... would he be voting for Hillary too? Hmmmmm.....if Reagan was still here, then probably Trump would no way, even be the nominee candidate....Trump would have gone no where in the NH primary, back in February .... Ronald Reagan was presidential!

The true conservative party of Lincoln and Reagan was completely destroyed when Trump became the GOP candidate for president.
I really don't know how any true conservative could have voted for Trump.

Timing really Is everything. I honestly thought we would never see another Republican president until they came a little to the center on some social Issues. But this year WAS definitely there for the taking. Hillary Is the most beatable candidate (aside from Trump) I think I've ever seen. Oh well, 4 more years and we'll see If They can come up with something. All those years Ron Paul ran In futility, I think he could have pulled it out this year. Timing really Is everything.

I find it completely embarrassing that this is the best the American voters can do...Trump and Hillary???...Really?? What does this say about the mentality of the American voter?? We are the laughing stock of the civilized world.
JFK and Ron Reagan must be turning in their graves! Dan

Someone's "Not Getting It"...

• Trump's real adversary isn't Hillary, as much as the "MSM", or the "Main Stream Media". Wikipedia lists The New York Times and CBS News as examples and further states, Quote:
But what they must work with, is this: "Pneumonia", "allergies", and "dehydration"? While unkind, this .gif is making the rounds: • The MSM isn't the only advocate for Hillary: Google's autocomplete feature made researching this post very difficult. Quote:

With the Donald questioning Hillary's stamina, meaning her ability to endure the demand and rigor needed to be a working president........say hey.....why not throw in a tennis match......Donald vs Hillary.....in addition to the three debates.
A tennis match.....Hillary vs Donald.....what a great idea......America loves sports on tv.....so a tennis match would be very big! Here's the Donald from April 7, 2015, 1:44, in Virginia, hitting a few tennis balls with Serena Williams: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04PxQm_L1Hs And, here's Hillary.....where is Hillary playing tennis......apparently, there is no video, ever, ever, that has Hillary playing tennis.....surely...doesn't she have a local tennis court where she serves down the tee at 122-mph.....come on Hillary!
