If you're speculating that it's a male because it appears to be "very large" you need to know that male Eagles like all other raptors are on average roughly 30% smaller than their female counterparts. I often see an adult Bald Eagle along Weirs Blvd and it is a female.

This is the one I am referring to and I spotted her atop a scrub pine on Weirs Blvd last year.

i was told it was a male, it is probably her, great photo!
