Walmart and the like have seduced all of us into thinking we're paying too much whenever we don't opt for the cheapest thing. Like Think, I scratch my head when asked to pay 3.5X a Hannaford's price. But when I consider the tremendous EFFORT and absolute deliciousness of local farm produce captured for only $0.69 an ear--HALLELUJAH!!! IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

.69/ear is fine for the first 100 ears or so. After that, it's pricey.

Usually this time of year the big chains sell local corn and post the grower. I just had some from Litchfield and it was great.

The best corn I've ever had was from McQuestion Farm in Litchfield.
