Not necessarily based on my experience or the experience I’ve had with the stove shop. As mentioned above, cleaning a pellet stove to the point of anal is a good trait to have.

I own two Harman stoves. They self diagnose to a certain extent by flashing the status light when something is wrong. They have 5 different “blink” codes which indicate 5 areas to start looking for the issue.
I totally agree that a clean stove is very important. The majority of pellet stove issues start with a dirty stove.
