We like that area because of the easy proximity to 93 if we need to get back down South, it’s closer vs our initial search which was in the Jackson/Conway area. Family has a home on the lake so would prefer ours to be closer to the mountains. Thanks.

Got it! Yes- it is convenient. I agree. The Conway area is too far east and out of the way. We once considered North Conway ourselves. Crazy traffic also in summer. (Not the The Weirs doesn't have the same! LOL!).

Whereas Plymouth is actually quieter with the college kids out for summer break.

After a decade or more of living in Meredith we really love living up near Plymouth now. You are right that Plymouth is quieter in the summer which is a nice break from the crowds of the lakes region (we continue to work in Meredith). Plymouth is also great because the college means there is lots of young energy in town and lots and lots of things to do in the winter. It really feels like the best of both worlds. And we live close enough to 93 that its now faster for us to get to Boston than it was when we lived in Meredith.

I do believe the taxes are really high in Plymouth though. Something to think about when buying is the taxes.

Default Found our place

So we wound up going with Kathleen Corcoran and buying a place in New Hampton in Winona heights, the house needs some work but amazing views and a great neighborhood, couldn’t be happier, thanks for all of your suggestions.

Default Welcome to a gorgeous area of the State

We are now only about a mile apart as the crow flies and the attached photos were taken less than a half a mile from your new home. Recognize this beautiful spot yet? if you do, sshhhh..... keep it a secret
Also, if you like these sort of local views be sure to check out the work of one of our very talented New Hampton neighbors; https://www.shellette.net/
