Nope. It's to prevent the folks from the south where there is a lock down from coming to NH to celebrate St Patrick's Day and bringing their virus with them. This issue was on NH TV tonight. You probably didn't see it in Waltham.

NBC Sports Bostonâs website is playing the remaining Celtic games on NBAY2K and posting the resulting box score and âstoryâ on their web app, âMy Teamsâ. Sad that Iâm driven to this to get my sports fix. Now Iâm starting to wish theyâd do it with hockey. So saaad!

Sheltering at home with my wife and making trips to the store for necessities.
Also patronizing the local Irish Pub (Kathleenâs Irish Pub in Bristol) with a take-out New England boiled dinner later this afternoon! đđđ |

I'm working from home (by which I mean, came up to the lake with my husband, also working from home) and watching the ice melt. We brought our Apple TV so we can watch shows, and I brought a stack of books and cross stitch.
My work advised me to plan for 6-8 weeks of remote work, so if that holds true I look forward to kayaking and some lesser known hikes where I never run into anyone. |

Right now for my sanity, the only store I hope doesn't close beside the essential stores, is Home Depot.

In Meredith you got to check out that Middleton Lumber Yard way down the south end of Main St. They have a new huge store, stocked up big, with great stuff and decent prices ..... including access to aluminum docks and dock items that get delivered to Meredith.

Lucky to retire to the Lakes Region.
Still work from home, e-conferenceing, virtual office setting is a godsend. Lots of volunteer activities, commissioner for NH Deaf and Hard of Hearing, member of Deaf Interpreter License Board, volunteer for NH Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. Various non profit board of directors. Lots of great services! Plenty of physical activities! Walking, hiking, skiing, (water and snow), boating, kayaking, snowshoeing etc. RVing locally, but soon nationally and possible Canada as well! Life has been good!

Yesterday afternoon was shopping at Ocean State Job Lot in Meredith and the entire store had like just two customers inside. For just 7.99 I got a very nice, large wind chime that you hang outdoors, and it gongs beautiful soothing mellow chimes that are warranted to keep the coronavirus away from you and your home.
G-g-g-gong-gong-gong ......... g-g-g-goodbye goodbye bye-bye corona virus! The virus ....... it get gonged away from the big lake! ...... ![]() The answer my friend is gonging in the wind ... 32 years before I was born, both of my grandparents, ages 28 & 30, my 4-year old dad's parents, died in December 1918, in Boston, in the world wide flu pandemic of 1918-1919 ...... so's I think of them now when I hear this wind chime gonging.

Just mailed a check to my broker to put in my account.
Hope to follow the market, estimate when it has neared the bottom, then buy a variety of equities and wait for the bounce back. Buy low, sell high. No doubt millions of others are doing the same (anyone who has extra money and is willing to take the risk probably should consider doing so). I was too timid back when thinks tanked over a decade ago: I still kick myself for not buying Ford when it was trading at 1 7/8 a share.

cleaned and organized my studio, did some painting, working on learning our new way of living. My husband and I are both "high risk" so we are hunkering down, not going out at all and will not for a long time. I"m going to start a journal about all this as I like to write too. Struggling with taking this all in. But all in all, I"m keeping busy and trying to focus on staying positive and strong.

Being grateful for this website and being able to visit and chat and read the treasure trove of info here, as always.
With my age and things my Longtime Primary Care Doctor has advised and told me to stay at home while the Pandemic is upon us. I can still help by listening, by phone calls and the internet here at home. I'd also like to say Hi to all my Friends here, and Y'all stay safe!! Love Y'all, Terry

We had my brothers and their families over last night. My son and his girlfriend came up from Cambridge. Great food, drink and company. With all this cabin fever, everyone was in a partying mood. Don't tell anyone, but we had 12 people at our home. I hope we didn't break any laws!
![]() I broke a tooth last Tuesday, and got my dentist to see me on this upcoming Tuesday. As of right now, I have a regularly scheduled doctor's appointment on Thursday for my annual physical. I went to Laconia Clinic on Friday for bloodwork. The Clinic was pretty empty. |

Talking about a 6am run to a market for some supplies...been eating venison and landlocked salmon from the freezer...would welcome a good olâ bacon cheeseburger about now! I heard that the Tilton stores are only opening early for seniors on Tuesday. Going to be plowing 6-10â of snow Tuesday morning if the forecast pans out...walking the dog several times a day on our remote property...plenty of âsocial distanceâ between us and neighbors...

We had some good luck in the last recession. We got a good tip on Las Vegas Sands. We bought it for around three dollars a share and sold it at around $60. That was a really great tip! That one stock gave us enough money to be able to move to Florida.
Anybody have some really good suggestions as to what theyâre putting their money in this time around? Weâve never been risk averse, even though weâre at the age that we should be. |

After a 10 days of cleaning, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, I'm struggling to get self motivated.

My wife is having âdrinks with the girlsâ once a week using the free ZOOM app. 6 or 7 participants and goes for the full 40 min of alloyed free time. I was going to do it with my friends but figured the call would last 5 min before we ran out of things to say.

When I started to work from home a few weeks ago I had already set up my own desk, chair and monitors in my wifeâs WFH office. But after a week I decided to move my stuff to my own space. Itâs difficult to share a space 24 hours a day. I spend a lot of time on the phone and it was too distracting for my wife. Weâre now on opposite ends of the house and itâs much better. And then after work we do all our other stuff together. Itâs good practice for when we retire.
The real question was about how our golden would react. How was she going to deal with the distancing? Other than the first hour Molly has been by my side except when Iâm in the bathroom and then she goes to my wife and makes whining noises. Itâs nice to be missed! |

Life is too short to allow yourself to get bored, but itâs difficult to figure out something productive to do thatâs manageable. Since weâre supposed to be in isolation pretty much, doing something for others is a challenge. I have thought about knitting hats for cancer patients, but donât have enough materials except for a few. If I decide to organize my spices alphabetically, then itâs time for the loony bin! Any positive suggestions are welcome. Canât do heavy lifting.

Another thing I've really enjoyed is pulling out old CDs and sitting and listening to them like I've not been able to do in a long while (in another life, I was an A/V salesman). Finally, my kids have been out in the back yard for a long while creating their own "camps" with extra tarps and hammocks. There's no doubt that this is horrible in most respects, but it's really reminded me of the simple joys I used to love. Take care, friend. Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

I've been walking around the house for the last three weeks asking my husband what day it is.
Last night I said, You know, I need those underpants I used to have when I was a little girl with hearts and the days of the week on them- He looked at me and said: you'd be wearing the wrong day anyway, it doesn't matter. sigh |

I'm on book #14 of the Vince Flynn (author) Mitch Rapp series which was recommended in another thread on this forum by another member. Thanks!!
Was able to download most of them via Libby app from my library and others were found on eBay as a partial set of paperbacks. Great read. |

All the local public tennis courts, today-Tuesday April 14 had tennis players, playing tennis. Holderness, and Moultonborough had just two people, each, and Meredith had about ten players on their six courts.
Today was a sunny, warm, beautiful day to go hit those tennis courts, and a great day for the race! ..... ![]() Fun physical outdoor sports, sunshine, and warmer weather are the arch enemy of the covid-19 virus. Is impossible to catch it while is so much fun smashing a tennis ball ..... backhand ..... forehand ..... overhead ..... or a drop~shot ..... tennis to the rescue!
