I assume you're talking about a ceramic type sink, maybe porcelain?
I'm pretty sure you can get ceramic crack repair kits at most hardware stores. I think they're basically an epoxy application.
Make sure it's really on the surface only and monitor it to see if it propagates.
Did it happen from an impact?

Default Cause? Prevention?

Any idea what caused the crack? Could it happen again whether you repair or replace?
I had an old "green" bathroom once and a company came in and spray coated all the fixtures. Looked brand new. I don't recall cost, but cheaper than a plumber replacing everything.
