Treatment for cedar shingles

All shingles on my house need to treated, hasn't been done since '04. Does anyone have experience or made a comparison between the new Flood CWF UV5 and Sikkens Log and Siding. We're going with a clear or natural light, depending on brand. Prime concern is how long before we have to maintain.
We looked at a house on the water near Kona today that was done 5 years ago and looks like new but it is a darker color which supposedly lasts much longer.
Anyone have experience with these brands?
