Many gas dock prices have not been updated for 2022. One stands out, WAM at $6.99/gal. Moving up the shore and around the lake I'm seeing $4.86 at MVYC and Irwin in Laconia, and others several cents under $5.00. Are these prices a blend of the latest delivery plus what was left in the tank, or does the price of the entire tank go up with the latest delivery? Is there an industry standard or common protocol?

Oof, $7/gallon would definitely put a pause in some of our use!

It makes one wonder if it's a typo?

Usually someone will correct the price, or another user will update a price soon after, so typo's tend to be short lived.

It is nice to see more reports coming in, but I'm sure we are all hoping that the prices will come down a bit more as the season gets going.

The last time gas prices were near this high the traffic on the lake was greatly reduced, particularly during June and July. August saw average or slightly above average traffic. If gas prices are even higher - $7/gallon - I would expect boat traffic will be considerably lower than the last time.

I am fortunate in that I rarely if ever gas up at one of the gas docks. I mostly buy my gas at one of the local gas stations, filling one or two 14 gallon gas caddies with 87 octane (all my boat requires which saves even more money), and fill up at my dock. While not quite as convenient, I save in costs and can fill up on my schedule and don't have to worry about 'waiting on line'.

Looks like those 14 gallon jugs are $130 each. If "lake" fuel is, say, $1.50 more per gallon, it would be equivalent to ~215 gallons when calculating in the road tax refund, treatments, and cost to go get fuel. Given I use ~300 gallons a summer, it would barely pay itself off this year but over the years might be cheaper.

Lot of work, though, and given this is the first summer of 9 I've felt like this...

I would guess that most boaters would be looking for a cove to drop anchor for the day rather than motor around the lake - even more than in past years if the price of gas is ridiculously high.

Should be an interesting summer as if the prices do spike I would personally expect to see lots of large rafting sites versus people deciding to simply not boat...

Time will tell - let's just hope for nice weather this summer - that would be enough for me.

Not counting that $6.99 price at WAM, all the others seem to b e under $5.00, a couple of bucks more than last year. The delta is not huge compared to the total cost of boating. However, the total cost of slips, maintenance etc. is creeping up, in some places jumping up. I expect we'll see more threads about DIY.

I've had the gas caddies for a number of years and use them for more than gassing up my boat. They paid for themselves years ago.

Like you, my family and I use a lot of gas in our boat during the boating season which for us runs from the second week of May until the first week of November.
